Waterside Retreat Pop-Up Card

This Waterside Retreat suite from Stampin’ Up is just relaxing and you can just imagine most of the scenes made with it.  This card uses the Waterside Retreat designer series paper for the seagulls and wood grains and then the Relaxing Waterside stamps and dies for the accents.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Gray Granite card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Waterside Retreat designer series paper (2026 Annual Catalog Stampin’ Up)
  • Relaxing Waterside stamp set and dies (2026 Annual Catalog Stampin’ Up)
  • Basic Gray or Gray Granite Ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Scoring board or scoring blade for paper trimmer
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

From you Gray Granite card stock cut a card base to 4 ¼” x 7 ½” and score at 1”, 2”, 5 ½” and 6 ½” and then from the center fold each side in toward the center and then each end out.  Cut another piece to 1 ¼” x 5 ½”.  From your white card stock cut a piece to 3 3/8” x 4 1/8” for the back of your card.  Then from your Waterside Retreat designer series paper pack find the white wood grain paper and the blue sky with gulls paper.  Cut a piece of the seagull paper to 3 3/8” x 4 1/8”.  From the wood grain paper cut four pieces to 7/8” x 4 1/8” with the grain running vertically and one piece to 1 1/8” x 5 3/8” with the grain running horizontally.

With some scrap pieces of your Gray Granite and your Basic Gray or Gray Granite ink, stamp one of the chairs, one of the large grasses and two of the smaller grass pieces and cut out with the matching dies.

For this card you need to do the back first to make it easier.  Take your piece of white card stock and the “have a great birthday” greeting from the Relaxing Waterside stamp set and with your Basic Gray or Gray Grainte ink stamp in the upper center.  Then stamp a seagull as desired.  Adhere to the center back of your card base.

To assemble, start by adhering your seagull piece to the inside center of your card base.  Then adhere two of the wood grain vertical pieces to the left two panels and the other two on the right panels.  Adhere your long horizontal wood grain piece to the Gray Granite piece and then adhere the left side of that to the left front panel of your card about 1/8” up from the bottom.  Then adhere the other side to the right front panel.  Now adhere your chair to the left side front and lower panel and adhere one of the smaller grass pieces to the left side of the chair.  Then adhere your large grass piece to the right front panel and the second small piece to the left of that.  Stamp the “today is your day” greeting and cut out into a rectangle and adhere with pop dots over the grasses.

A relaxing way to wish someone a happy birthday.
