Harvest Meadow Dragonfly Card

I had forgotten how beautiful this Harvest Meadow paper was and once I pulled it out to see what was in it I had to make a few cards with it.  It is spring times, so times for the dragonflies to start coming out so that was my inspiration.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Misty Moonlight card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Harvest Meadow designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Dragonfly Garden
  • Dragonfly Garden punch or scissors
  • Waterfront
  • Two hexagon dies
  • Misty Moonlight ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends (Stampin’ Up)
  • Blue Twine
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

From your Misty Moonlight card stock cut a card base to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  With your white card stock cut a piece for the front of your card to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” and for the inside a piece to 4” x 5 ¼”.  Then from the Harvest Meadows designer series paper find the blue piece with the floral design, cut a piece of this to 4” x 5 ¼”.  With a scrap piece of Misty Moonlight and your larger hexagon die approximately 2 3/8” x 3 7/8” cut one piece.  Then from a spare piece of white card stock cut the smaller size hexagon to approximately 1 7/8” x 3 3/8”.

From the Dragonfly Garden stamp set take the solid bodied dragonfly stamp and your Misty Moonlight ink and stamp two dragonflies.  Then color the wings with your Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends.  Take the Dragonfly Garden dragonfly punch or scissors and cut out your dragonflies.

Take your white hexagon piece and the small dragonflies stamp and with the Misty Moonlight ink stamp on the top portion of the hexagon.  Then with the Waterfront stamp set use the “Every little kindness makes the world brighter” greeting and stamp toward the bottom but leaving enough room for one of your dragonflies.  With the blue twine wrap it around the white hexagon and tie a bow.  Then adhere to the blue hexagon.  Grab your blue floral piece and the white piece for the front of your card and adhere the blue floral to the white, and then the white to the front of your card.  Then adhere to hexagons to the center of your card.  Adhere one of your dragonflies with a pop dot to the bottom right corner of your hexagons.

Now adhere the white piece of card stock to the inside of your card and then adhere the dragonfly to the lower left corner.

You are now ready to celebrate Spring and let someone enjoy this lovely card from you.

Cottage Rose Trellis Card

This is a cute see through card with a beautiful rose for a touch of elegance.  I used the Wild Wheat as the color tones to keep it a bit vintage to go with the trellis cut out.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Very Vanilla card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Softly Stippled designer series paper (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Cottage Rose stamp set and dies (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Trellis die
  • Textured Notes dies
  • Jet Black Staz-On ink
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

With the Very Vanilla card stock cut a card base to 4 ¼” x 11” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  With the Softly Stippled designer series paper, find the piece that is Wild Wheat colored with a look of painted texture.  Cut two pieces of that to 4” x 5 ¼”.  Adhere one piece to the front of your card and the other to the inside of your card.

Take a spare piece of Very Vanilla and the trellis die and cut it out.  Then take the medium rectangle die from the Textured Notes dies and cut a frame that measures about 3 ¾” wide.  Use the same medium rectangle die and cut out a rectangle on the front of your card, which will leave about ¼” on each side for support.  Trim your Trellis piece to just under the size of the rectangle you cut out, adhere to the back and then adhere that over the hole on the front of your card, giving you the trellis window.

Take another spare piece of Very Vanilla and your Jet Black StazOn ink and stamp the large rose and the leaf stem from the Cottage Rose stamp set.  Use the light and dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends to color the leaves, the dark Cajin Craze Stampin’ Blends to color the dainty flowers, use the light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends to color the stems and then the light and dark Wild Wheat to color the rose.  Use the dies from the Cottage Rose set to cut out the large rose and the leaf stem.  Adhere the stems to the lower right below your trellis cut out.  Use pop dots on the large rose and adhere to the lower left corner overlook

For the inside cut two rectangle pieces from some Very Vanilla.  On one of them stamp the “Happy Birthday” greeting from the Cottage Rose stamp set.  Adhere that one to the top of the inside of your card.  On the other one stamp one of the small roses from the Cottage Rose stamp set to the left side leaving room for signatures and a note.  Use your same Stampin’ Blends to color that rose.  Adhere this to the bottom of the inside of your card.

That gives you the Cottage Rose Trellis card for a lovely sentiment for anyone’s birthday.

Inked Botanicals Fern Sympathy Card

I have been waiting to find some paper that I thought would work well for this card and this morning I saw this and thought it would work perfectly, and it turned out better than I was thinking it would.  I love the paper and color combinations, and the addition of the embossed fern leaves.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Lost Lagoon card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Inked Botanicals designer series paper (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Lost Lagoon Black ink
  • Fern Embossing Folder (Stampin’ Up)
  • Scallop Border Die (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Scalloped Rectangle Die (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

To start this card, take a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock and cut it to a standard card base of 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and then another piece to 2 3/8” x 4 5/8” and a last piece to 7/8” x 2 3/8”.  With the Lost Lagoon fern paper from the Inked Botanicals designer series paper pack, cut a piece to 3 ½” x 5 3/8”.  Then with the Lost Lagoon plaid designer series paper from Inked Botanicals as well cut it to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”.  Then with your white card stock cut a piece to 2 ¼” x 4 ½”, and then with your scalloped rectangle die measuring about 2 ½” x 3 ¾” cut a piece for your inside and then a piece to ¾” x 2 3/8”.

Take your Lost Lagoon card base and the fern DSP piece along with your scallop border die.  Align the fern dsp centered up and down and in about ¼” from the left edge, then align your scallop die in about an 1 ¼” from the right to the inside of your die, then cut.  Put adhesive on the back of the fern paper and center on your card front.  Take the white card stock piece you cut to 2 ¼” x 4 ½” and the fern embossing folder and emboss.  Adhere that to the piece of Lost Lagoon and adhere to the front center of your card base.  With the two small label size pieces and your Lost Lagoon ink, stamp the “You’re in my thoughts” greeting, then adhere the white to the Lost Lagoon piece and that to the lower portion of the embossed fern paper about ¾” from the bottom.

Take your white scalloped rectangle and your Lost Lagoon ink and stamp your “With Sympathy” greeting and then adhere to the inside of your card about 5/8” from the left of your inside half, making sure it doesn’t show when your card is closed.

This makes a lovely fern sympathy card to give to anyone when needed.

Magnolia Mood Rustic Thank You Card

I felt like going a bit rustic today with this Magnolia Mood card.  This set is so lovely and so detailed that it really doesn’t even need any color.  I gave the leaves a bit of color but otherwise just let the stamp do all the work.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Early Expresso card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Sahara Sand card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Magnolia Mood stamp set and dies (Stampin’ Up)
  • Soft Suede ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Old Olive Dark Stampin’ Blends
  • Woodgrain embossing Folder (Stampin’ Up)
  • Two label dies that layer
  • Rustic Metal Adhesive-Backed Dots (Stampin’ Up)
  • Sponge
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

Start with taking your Early Expresso card stock and cutting into a card base at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  Then with your Sahara Sand card stock cut two pieces to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” and a third piece to 4” x 5 ¼”.  Cut a piece of white card stock to 4” x 5/14”.

Take the Sahara Sand piece cut to 4” x 5 ¼” and your woodgrain embossing folder and emboss.  Take your Soft Suede ink pad and lightly run it over your embossed piece to highlight the wood grain.  You can also use a brayer to ink if you want it to only ink the grain and be a bit more neat, but I like the more rusticness of running the ink pad instead for this one.

With some scrap white paper and your Soft Suede ink stamp one of the large magnolias and one of the small single flowers.  Use your Old Olive Dark Stampin’ Blends to color the leaves and then cut them out with the dies.  Then take your cut piece of white card stock that you cut to 4” x 5 ¼” and stamp another of the small single flowers slightly off the card in the lower left corner.  Find the “just a not no let you know that you are loved” greeting and stamp toward the top center for the inside of your card.  With the “Thank you for being you” greeting stamp onto a piece of scrap white card stock.

Take on of your pieces of Sahara Sand and adhere your wood grain piece to it and then adhere that to the front of your card base.  With pop dots, adhere the large magnolia in the slower left of your card and then the small flower to the right side with the stem hidden slightly under the large magnolia.  With your “Thank you for being you” greeting use the smaller of two label dies to cut that out greeting.  With a scrap piece of Sahara Sand and the larger label die cut out a piece.  I used a sponge to sponge the edges of both labels, then adhere together and then with pop dots adhere to the upper part of your card front.  Adhere a few metal embellishments around your label.

Take you stamped white inside piece and adhere to the second piece of Sahara Sand card stock and adhere to the inside of your card.

That is all there is to making this rustic Magnolia Mood thank you card.  I was really happy with how it turned out and can’t wait to give it to someone.

Daisy Birthday Card

Anyone who really knows me knows that white daisies are my favorite flower, hence why my website is www.daisychainfun.com as it had to have the word daisy and a daisy in my logo.  I did struggle with this card being way too white though, so I finally decided to use some of the antiquing spray I have in many different colors and it was exactly what this card needed.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Lemon Lime Twist card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Lemon Lolly card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Heart and Home designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Daisy stamp (Reflections)
  • Basic Gray Black ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Stampin’ Blends
    • Lemon Lime Twist Light
    • Lemon Lolly Dark
  • Willow Walnut Ink Antiquing Solution Spray (Tsukineko)
  • Yellow ribbon
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

This car is pretty straightforward, it is just a lot of layers.  With some white card stock, cut a card base of 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  Cut another piece of white to 2 ¾” x 4 5/8” and one to 5/8” x 2”.  With the Lemon Lime Twist card stock cut a piece to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” and a second piece to 3 1/8” x 4 7/8” and a third to 7/8” x 2 1/4”.  Then cut a piece of Lemon Lolly to 4” x 5 ¼” and a second piece to 2 7/8” x 4 ¾” and a third to ¾” x 2 1/8”.  Lastly, take one of the white wood designer series papers from the Heart and Home paper pack and cut a piece to 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”.

Take the white piece you cut to 2 ¾” x 4 5/8”, your Basic Gray ink and your daisy stamp and stamp onto the center of the white card stock piece.  Let dry for a few minutes since it isn’t StazOn ink.  Color the leaves with the Lemon Lime Twist Light Stampin’ Blends and the flower centers with the Lemon Lolly Dark.  Take your stamped piece and the white wood designer series paper and a piece of cardstock or cardboard you can spray on, and with your Willow Antiquing Spray and spray both pieces, then let dry for a few minutes.  On the small white piece you cut stamp the “Happy Birthday” greeting from the Special Someone stamp set in your Basic Grey ink.

Now let’s get it all put together.  Take the three large pieces and start with adhering the wood designer series paper piece to the yellow and then to the green and finally to your card front.  Then with the middle size pieces wrap your daisy stamped piece with yellow ribbon and tie into a knot toward the left side.  Now adhere your stamped daisy piece to the yellow and then to the green and now to the center of your card front.  Layer up your small pieces with your Happy Birthday and adhere that over the ribbon.

For the inside take the “a very special day…” and the “for a very special someone” greeting stamps from the Special Someone stamp set and stamp in the Basic Gray ink, and then the flower stamp in the lower left corner.

There is a birthday card for anybody who loves daisies or flowers in general.

Rustic Crate True Friend Card

I went a bit old school for today’s card with the Rustic Crate set and using an old tool that roughs up the edges and then I sponged them to antique the paper.  It was fun to go back to using some old ways of doing things.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Natural card stock
  • A brighter color card stock for gloves
  • Tan card stock to cut the rake
  • Timeless Plaid designer series paper
  • Rustic Crate stamp set and dies (Stampin’ Up)
  • Flowering Rain Boots dies (Stampin’ Up)
  • Dragonfly Garden stamp set (Stampin’ Up)
  • Early Expresso Black ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Cinnamon Cider ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Cinnamon Cider twine (Stampin’ Up)
  • Stampin Blends
    • Old Olive light and dark
    • Lemon Lime Twist light and dark
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

Cut your card base to 5 ½” x 8 ½” using the Natural card stock then fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  With your Timeless Plaid card stock find the Old Olive green plaid piece, cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼” and then you should have a piece left that is ¾” x 4” to use for your inside.  Take the scrapping tool (if you have one) or scissors and your two pieces of plaid paper and rough the edges, then use your sponge and Cinnamon Cider ink to sponge along your roughed edges.  I also sponged the front cover edges of the card.  Adhere the 4’ x 5 ¼” piece to the front of your card and the small piece to the left side of the inside of your card.

With some scrap Natural card stock, the plant stamp from the Rustic Crate stamp set and your Early Expresso ink and stamp two of the plants.  Use your four green Stampin’ Blend markers to color the plants in different shades, I did Lemon Lime Twist Light, Old Olive Dark, Lemon Lime Twist Dark and then the Old Olive Light from left to right.  Use the die from Rustic Crate to cut out your plants. Also cut a small tag with a die from the Natural card stock.  Take a scrap piece of Cinnamon Cider card stock and the crate die from Rustic Crate and cut your crate.  Use a brighter color card stock to cut the gloves from the Rustic Crate dies.  Take a scrap piece of tan and the rake die from the Flowering Rain Boots dies and cut out the rake.

Take your plants and the crate and align the first row of plants to where you want them.  If any of the roots are showing then cut them off leaving enough room to adhere to the crate.  For the second row of plants, I cut the first two together and then cut the other two individually.  Align them along the back spaced to your liking and adhere.  Adhere the crate with plants to the front of your card, slightly to the left so you have room for your tag.  Adhere the gloves and rake.

Take your tag, Cinnamon Cider ink and the “For a True Friend” greeting from Dragonfly Garden and stamp on your tag.  Adhere your tag like it is tied to the plants.  Take some of your twine and tie a bow and adhere to the top of your tag.  For the inside of your card take the “May good things grow all year long” greeting and the Cinnamon Cider in and stamp on the inside of the card.

That completes your Rustic Crate True Friend card.  Give it to a special friend to let them know you care.

Chalked Detailed Dogwood Sympathy Card

I love dogwood trees, and it is almost time for them to start blooming.  That has inspired me to use the Detailed Dogwood set for this card.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Crumb Cake card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Harvest Meadow designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Detailed Dogwood stamp set (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Mixed Labels stamp set (Stampin’ Up)
  • Tag die
  • Crumb Cake ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Chalk marker (Stampin’ Up)
  • Adhesive Backed Swirl Dots (Stampin’ Up)
  • Twine
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

Take your Crumb Cake card stock cut a card base to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  Cut another piece to 3 5/8” x 4 7/8” for the inside and one more piece to 2 7/8” x 3 5/8” for the dogwood front piece.  With white card stock cut a piece to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” for the front of your card, a piece to 3 ¾”x 5” for the inside of your card, a piece to 3” x 3 ¾” for the front dogwood and then a piece to 2 1/8” x 4 ½” for the inside.  From the Harvest Meadow designer series paper find the Crumb Cake colored piece with the branches and buds, cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼”.

Take the 2 7/8” x 3 5/8” piece of Crumb Cake card stock and the Crumb Cake ink and stamp the large dogwood from the Detailed Dogwood stamp set.  On the inside piece of Crumb Cake you cut to 3 5/8” x 4 7/8”” stamp the smaller dogwood to the lower left corner.  For both of your stamped dogwoods use the chalk marker to color in the flowers, it will probably take two layers to make the white really stand out.  Then on the white piece measuring 2 1/8” x 4 ½” stamp the “Just a note to let you know you’re on my mind” greeting from the Mixed Labels stamp set toward the top.  With a spare piece of white card stock, stamp the “with Sympathy” greeting, also from the Mixed Labels stamp set, and use a label die to cut it out.  If there isn’t a string hole on your label die, you will need to punch one.

Adhere to the branches and buds piece of designer series paper and adhere to the white piece, then adhere to your card front.  Take your large colored dogwood piece and adhere to the white.  With your twine, wrap it around the large dogwood piece, string through your tag and then tie into a knot.  Use pop dots to adhere that to the front of your card.  Add a few of the crumb cake colored swirl dots.

For the inside of your card, take the Crumb Cake piece with the smaller dogwood and adhere to the white piece, then adhere your greeting piece to the right side of the dogwood.  Adhere that to the inside of your card.

You have now made a lovely chalked detailed dogwood card to give to someone who has lost a loved one and you would like to let know you are there for them.

Pigs in a Row Timeless Plaid Card

These adorable pigs just won my heart and I had to have this die set.  I started thinking last night that I wanted to do a card with some of the plaid paper from Stampin’ Ups Timeless Plaid designer series paper and these pigs just popped into my head and that was it, they were getting used.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Powder Pink card stock (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Crumb Cake card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Rich Razzleberry card stock (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Timeless Plaid designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Quite Curvy (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Happy Thoughts (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Row of Pigs Border Cutting Dies (InLoveArts)
  • Rich Razzleberry ink (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Tip Top Taupe Marker (Stampin’ Up)
  • Sponge
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

With your Powder Pink card stock cut a card base to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  With the Rich Razzleberry card stock cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼”.  Then with your pink plaid paper cut a piece to 3 7/8” x 5” and a second piece to 7/8” x 3 7/8”.  Now take your white card stock and cut it to 4” x 5 ¼”.

Grab some spare scraps of your Powder Pink card stock and cut 5 pigs, one with all four and then cut an extra with the one you like the most.  Then with the Crumb Cake card stock and cut the wooden pen and then with a small piece cut out a corner with some of the grass cut to 7/8” x 1 ¾” with the grass extending past the 7/8”.  Take your Tip Top Taupe market and color the grass areas on the wooden pen.

Now take a piece of spare white card stock and the “Hooray for you!” greeting stamp from the Quite Curvy stamp set.  With the curvy die, make sure the curvy greeting is lined up in the same shape as the curved die so that it will line up when you cut it.  Stamp it with the Rich Razzleberry ink.  Take the die and line it up to cut the bottom of “Hooray for You” and cut which will leave the dots border.  Do the same at the top which will cut it straight.

Take your piece of Rich Razzleberry and the large plaid and adhere the plaid to the Rich Razzleberry and then adhere that to the front of your card.  Then adhere the wooden pen to the bottom of the front plaid piece.  Align four of your pigs along the top of the wooden pen and then adhere each of them.  Now adhere your Hooray for You greeting to the center of your plaid.

For the inside of your card, adhere the small piece of plaid to the left side of the white inside piece.  If you haven’t already, color the grass hanging out on the small wooden pen you cut and then adhere to the lower left corner over part of the plaid.  Adhere your last pig to the to of the wooden pen.

There is your adorable Pigs in a Row Timeless Plaid card to give a cute congratulations to anyone.

Mixed Floral Z-Fold Pop-Up Card

This is a z-fold card, but with a pop-up twist, so there is a middle layer that pops up when you start to open the card.  I love the colors, I saw someone else use them for a card so I decided to use the colors to make this style card.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Pretty in Pink card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Mixed Floral designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Jet Black Staz-On ink
  • Stampin’ Blends (Stampin’ Up)
    • Pretty in Pink Light
    • Pretty in Pink Dark
    • Mint Macaroon Dark
    • Lemon Lolly Light
    • Lemon Lolly Dark
  • Scoring board or paper trimmer scoring blade
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

With the Pretty in Pink card stock cut a card base to 5 ½” x 8 ½” then score at 2 1/8 and 4 ¼” and fold the card in half and the fold the front quarter forward to form your z-fold.  Cut another piece with the Pretty in Pink to 2 ¾” x 4 ¼”.  With your white card stock cut a piece to 2” x 4 1/8”, one to 4 3/8” x 4 5/8” and a third piece to 2 5/8” x 4 1/8” and lastly one to 2 ½” x 3” scored at ½”, 1 ¼” and 2”.   With the black floral designer series paper from the Mixed Floral designer series paper pack.  Cut a piece to 4 x 5 ¼” and a second to 1 7/8” x 4”.

Take the coneflower stamp from the Mixed Florals set and the Jet Black Staz-On ink and stamp on to a spare piece of white card stock.  Color the leaves with the Mint Macaroon dark Stampin’ Blends, the dainty flowers and large flower centers with the Lemon Lolly light and dark Stampin’ Blends and the large flowers with the light and dark Pretty in Pink Stampin Blends.  With the white piece measuring 2 5/8” x 4 1/8” and stamps from the Mixed Labels stamp set stamp the dainty flower stamp once or twice in the lower left corner and the “I’m so glad we’re friends” greeting in the upper left corner.

Now let’s assemble the card.  Adhere the white piece of card stock measuring 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” to the back of the card, and the black floral piece measuring 4” x 5 ¼” to the white card stock piece.

With the 2 ½” x 3” scored piece, fold into a square.  Put adhesive on the top of the right side of ½” part.  Fold in half with the glue half down, line up with the middle fold so it will lay flat with card closed.  The put adhesive on the upper ½” section and fold card onto it again making sure it all lays flat.  Take the Pretty in Pink piece and adhere your stamped white piece to it.  Put adhesive on the top of your box piece and adhere this greeting piece to it centered.

Take the last white piece and adhere the black floral piece to that and adhere to the front of the card.  Glue your large colored flowers to the front with it partially hanging of toward the center and making sure your greeting is covered.

That gives you the pop-up z-fold card in these lovely pops of pink with the black background.

Love Cats Circle Flap Card

Anyone who knows me knows I love cats, and I have been trying to design this card in my head for a while as I wanted to do a layered card but that let you see all the cats even when the card was closed.  I finally sat down and played with it yesterday and this was the result, and I was really happy with it.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • White card stock
  • Copper Clay Stripe and Heart designer series paper (Stampin’ Up 2023-24 In Color)
  • Love Cats stamp set (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Two circle dies
  • Copper Clay ink (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Basic Black Ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Copper Clay Stampin’ Blends or Stampin’ Marker (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Scoring board or paper trimmer scoring blade
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

With your Copper Clay card stock cut a card base to 5 ½” x 8 ¼” and score at 1 ¾”, 2 ¾”, 4 ¼” and 5 ¼”.  With your white card stock cut three pieces to 2 5/8” x 5 1/8”.  With the striped designer series paper cut a piece to 2 ¾” x 3”.  With the heart copper clay designer series paper cut two to 2 ¾” x 5 3/8”.

Take your three pieces of white card stock you cut, the Love Cats stamps and the Basic Black ink.  Stamp the hanging cat on one piece at the top.  With the cat flipped, stamp that in the lower right corner of the second piece.  On the third piece stamp the laying cat about 2 ¼” (top of back) down.  With the laying cat piece take scissors and cut the bottom out below the ledge so the paws and tail hanging off the ledge are cut out.

Take the hanging cat layer and adhere it to one of the heart pieces of paper.  With the larger circle die cut out a partial circle at the bottom to show the flipped cat.  Adhere this to the middle section of your card base.  For the top layer, alight the striped piece where it would go on the top layer of your card base and flip upside down and with a pencil draw on the back side of the striped paper where the circle needs to be and then use that to line the circle die up and cut that circle out.  Now adhere the white upper portion with the laying cat to the top of that making sure it measures a height of 5 3/8”.  Lay your larger circle die upside down over the hanging cat, align your top layer where it would adhere on the top level and find where to cut the upper partial circle out of the top layer and cut out.

Now for the lower layer with the flipped cat, take both circle dies and align as above in the upper left corner, making sure you are leaving enough room for the inside circle to stamp the “I love hanging out with you” greeting, and cut out both circles together.  Adhere the lower part with the cat onto your last heart designer series paper piece.  Then align your upper corner and adhere that.  With the  “I love hanging out with you” greeting and your Copper Clay ink, stamp your greeting.  Adhere this to the back or your card base. With the Copper Clay marker color in the open hearts on each of your stamped images.

You now have the Love Cats flap card to give so someone you love spending time with.  I am absolutely in love with this card and so happy with how it turned out after spending so much time trying to figure it out in my head.
