I have been waiting to find some paper that I thought would work well for this card and this morning I saw this and thought it would work perfectly, and it turned out better than I was thinking it would. I love the paper and color combinations, and the addition of the embossed fern leaves.

To create this card, you just need a few things:
- Lost Lagoon card stock (Stampin’ Up)
- White card stock
- Inked Botanicals designer series paper (Retired Stampin’ Up)
- Lost Lagoon Black ink
- Fern Embossing Folder (Stampin’ Up)
- Scallop Border Die (Retired Stampin’ Up)
- Scalloped Rectangle Die (Retired Stampin’ Up)
- Paper trimmer
- Adhesive of choice
- Pop dots
To start this card, take a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock and cut it to a standard card base of 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and then another piece to 2 3/8” x 4 5/8” and a last piece to 7/8” x 2 3/8”. With the Lost Lagoon fern paper from the Inked Botanicals designer series paper pack, cut a piece to 3 ½” x 5 3/8”. Then with the Lost Lagoon plaid designer series paper from Inked Botanicals as well cut it to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”. Then with your white card stock cut a piece to 2 ¼” x 4 ½”, and then with your scalloped rectangle die measuring about 2 ½” x 3 ¾” cut a piece for your inside and then a piece to ¾” x 2 3/8”.

Take your Lost Lagoon card base and the fern DSP piece along with your scallop border die. Align the fern dsp centered up and down and in about ¼” from the left edge, then align your scallop die in about an 1 ¼” from the right to the inside of your die, then cut. Put adhesive on the back of the fern paper and center on your card front. Take the white card stock piece you cut to 2 ¼” x 4 ½” and the fern embossing folder and emboss. Adhere that to the piece of Lost Lagoon and adhere to the front center of your card base. With the two small label size pieces and your Lost Lagoon ink, stamp the “You’re in my thoughts” greeting, then adhere the white to the Lost Lagoon piece and that to the lower portion of the embossed fern paper about ¾” from the bottom.

Take your white scalloped rectangle and your Lost Lagoon ink and stamp your “With Sympathy” greeting and then adhere to the inside of your card about 5/8” from the left of your inside half, making sure it doesn’t show when your card is closed.

This makes a lovely fern sympathy card to give to anyone when needed.
