Autumn Opulence Double Heart Fold Out Anniversary Card

I needed an anniversary card for my husband and wanted it to be masculine, so I decided I wanted to use some wood grain paper for some hearts, and it evolved from there.  I used paper from the Wood Grain Wonders designer series paper from Stampin’ Up, along with the Autumn Opulence designer series paper for the background with some stamps and dies from Natures Symphony.   

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Early Expresso card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Basic Beige card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Wood Grain Wonders designer series paper (March 26 Online Exclusive Stampin’ Up)
  • Autumn Opulence designer series paper (September 26 Online Exclusive Stampin’ Up)
  • Natures Symphony stamp set and dies (March 26 Online Exclusive Stampin’ Up)
  • Timeless Love stamps (retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Heart dies
  • Crumb Cake ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Cajun Craze ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write marker (retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Scoring board or blade from paper trimmer
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

Take a piece of Early Expresso card stock and cut a piece to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” for your card base.  Then also cut two larger size hearts with heart dies, find a size that one aligns with the top of the card base and the second will align with the bottom of the card base and will slightly overlap in the middle.  From a piece of Basic Beige cut two hearts the next size down and then two more this size from the Crumb Cake wood grain paper from the Wood Grain Wonder DSP paper.  With the wood grain paper also cut a piece to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”.  The with the Autumn Opulence DSP paper find the Early Expresso with Mushrooms paper and cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼”. 

Take your Early Expresso card base and your two Early Expresso hearts and adhere one of the hearts in the upper right side adhering about ½” to the card, and then do the same with the second heart in the lower left corner, making sure the point meets with the bottom of your card base so that your card can stand.  Use a scoring board or blade for your paper trimmer to score each heart so it folds to the front.  Now adhere your 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” wood grain piece to the back panel and then the mushroom paper onto that. 

Now take your two wood grain hearts and trim off the excess and adhere to the front of your hearts.  Use a label die to cut out a label large enough for the “happy anniversary” greeting from Timeless Love and then stamp in Crumb Cake ink on your label.  Now find the leafy branch stamp from Nature’s Symphony stamp set and ink with Crumb Cake ink and then use your Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write marker and color the leaves and then stamp, giving you two color stamping.  Adhere the label on your front angled to your liking on the front of your lower heart and then use the die to cut out your leafy branch and adhere to the left side of your label. 

For the inside of your card take the two Basic Beige hearts and trim them down to fit on the insides of the hearts and adhere to each heart.  Use the “you make my heart smile” greeting from the Timeless Love stamp set and stamp in Crumb Cake ink on the upper heart.  Leave the lower heart inside blank for a message. 

I fell in love with how this card turned out.  I like it so much I made a wedding card for a friend with the same design.

Layers of Beauty Anniversary Card

I finally got the Layers of Beauty bundle, I am not sure why I didn’t have it already.  I made this anniversary card which is great to have a set to do something different.  Using the masks was a lot of fun and it adds a layer of elegance. 

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • White card stock
  • Impressions Abloom designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Layers of Beauty stamps, dies and masks (Stampin’ Up)
  • Two layering label dies
  • Inks
    • Black StazOn ink
    • Darling Duckling ink (Stampin’ Up)
    • Daffodil Delight ink (Stampin’ Up)
    • Crushed Curry (Stampin’ Up
    • Wild Wasabi (Stampin’ Up)
  • Blending brushes (Stampin’ Up)
  • 2021-23 In Color Opal Rounds
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

With the white cards stock cut a card base to 4 ¼” x 8 ½”, folded in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and two pieces to 3 ¾” x 5”.  From the Impressions Abloom designer series paper, find the Darling Duckling grid paper and cut two pieces to 4” x 5 ¼”. 

With a spare piece of white card stock and your Black StazOn ink, stamp the large three roses stamp twice.  Gather up your three yellow inks and Wild Wasabi ink, a blending brush and your masks.  With Mask #1 align over your stamped roses and use either washi tape or a Post-It note to hold in place.  Then use your Darling Duckling ink and rub your blending brush around on your ink pad and then swirl around on a spare piece of paper to get the ink lightened and then swirl across your mask to color in a portion of the roses.  Do the same process with mask #2 and the Daffodil Delight ink and then mask #3 and the Crushed Curry ink.  Now with mask #4 and the Wild Wasabi ink put a light layer on the leaves and with mask #5 I used Wild Wasabi ink again but as a second layer and a little darker to highlight the leaves.  Use the large die to cut the rose grouping out.  Follow the same process for the second set which you will be using the large rose and the small rose individually.  Use the large rose die to cut out that rose individually and then cut out the small rose with a pair of scissors. 

On a scrap piece of white cards stock find the “Happy Anniversary” stamp from the Layers of Beauty stamp set and stamp with your Black StazOn.  Use a smaller label die to cut out and then with a larger label die cut a piece of the Darling Ducking grid designer series paper and layer the labels. 

Take on of the Darling Duckling grid paper pieces you cut and adhere to the front of your white card base.  Then adhere one of the white cut pieces to the front of that.  Now with your full rose set that you colored and cut out, align where you would like it, I did cut off a few leaves to make it fit the way I wanted.  Take the large colored and cut out rose and align that to the upper right to fill in the rest.  Now adhere your layered label in the lower right corner.  Take a few of the yellow opal embellishments and sprinkle around to your liking. 

With the remaining piece of Darling Duckling grid paper and adhere to the inside of your card and then the piece of white card stock to that.  Adhere the small rose you cut out in the lower left corner and then find the “you make my heart smile” stamp and stamp to the upper center with your Black StazOn. 

There you are, you have an elegant anniversary card for someone you love or for a couple celebrating an anniversary.
