Peaceful Garden Birds on a Branch Card

This dainty floral-patterned paper from the Peaceful Garden designer series paper from Stampin’ up seemed like the perfect paper for this birds on a branch die.  I think it turned out adorable, loving it.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Secret Sea card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Wisteria Wonder card stock (retired Stampin’ UP)
  • White card stock
  • Peaceful Garden designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Birds on a Branch die (unknown)
  • Impressions Abloom dies (Stampin’ Up)
  • Birthday stamps (unknown)
  • Wisteria Wonder ink (retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

Take a piece of Secret Sea card stock and cut a card base to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half.  Cut another piece to 1” x 3”.  The dainty floral piece of designer series paper seemed more purple than Misty Moonlight and Cloud Cover so I used Wisteria Wonder, but you could use Cloud Cover as well.  From the Wisteria Wonder card stock cut two pieces to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” and another to 7/8” x 2 7/8”.  From the white card stock cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼” and another to ¾” x 2 ¾”.  Then from the Peaceful Garden designer series paper pack find the dainty floral piece and cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼”.

With one piece of the Wisteria Wonder adhere it to the front of your Secret Sea card stock and then adhere the dainty floral piece to that.  With a spare piece of Secret Sea cut two of the birds on a branch die, and then again with a spare piece of Wisteria Wonder.  Cut the birds off the one of the Wisteria Wonder pieces and adhere over one of the Secret Sea birds.  With the second piece of Secret Sea birds on a branch you cut, cut off the left end leaving 3 leaves to the front of the bird and then cut that bird off the second Wisteria Wonder birds and adhere to this branch.  Then with a spare piece of white card stock and the two small flowers dies from the Impressions Abloom dies and cut six white flowers.  Adhere five of the white flowers to the full birds on a branch set and the sixth flower on the small one.

Adhere to full birds on a branch that you created to the front of your card.  Then with the ¾” x 2 ¾” white piece and a “Birthday Wishes” greeting stamp and Wisteria Wonder ink, stamp the greeting.  Adhere the white piece to the Wisteria Wonder piece and then to the Secret Sea piece and adhere to the lower right corner of your card.

For the inside of your card, stamp the “I can’t think of a nicer person to celebrate!” stamp with Wisteria Wonder ink toward the top center.  Adhere your smaller bird on a branch piece to the lower left corner.  Adhere this to the Wisteria Wonder and then to the inside of your card.

You now have the birds on a branch card made with Peaceful Garden.

Nests of Winter Warbler Card

This is a fun card and pretty easy and straight forward to make.  I have mentioned before but I love my birds, so this paper is one of my favorites.  I feed the birds daily and I get a warbler every once in a while, but that is maybe once a year if I am lucky that I get to see one so at least I can make a card with them on it.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Daffodil Delight card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Blueberry Bushel card stock (Stampin’s Up)
  • White card stock
  • Nests of Winter designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder (Stampin’ Up)
  • Framed Florets stamp set
  • Blueberry Bushel ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Daffodil Delight ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Blue cord
  • Sponge
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

With your Daffodil Delight card stock, cut a card base to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  Take your Blueberry Bushel card stock and cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼” and cut a piece to 1 ½” x 1 ¾” for the label.  Now with your white card stock cut a piece to 3 ¾” x 5” and another for the inside of your card to 4” x 5 ¼ inch and one for the label to 1 3/8” x 1 5/8”.  Get your Nest of Winter designers series paper pack and find the paper that has the birds on it and cut out one of the warblers, which is the blue and yellow bird.

Take the Birch Wood embossing folder and your white piece measuring 3 ¾” x 5” and emboss.  Take your Daffodil Delight ink and your sponge and sponge all four edges of your embossed white piece.  With your blue cord, tie a piece around the white embossed piece and tie into a knot or bow.  Adhere that to the Blueberry Bushel piece cut to 4” x 5 ¼” and then adhere that to the front of your card base.  Take the bird you cut out and adhere to the front of your card toward the upper left corner.

With your Framed Florets stamp set find the “For a special person for a special friend” greeting and the Blueberry Bushel ink and stamp on the small piece of white you cut earlier.  Adhere that to the small piece of Bluberry Bushel you cut and adhere that to the lower right corner of the front of your card.

Take the last piece of white you cut for the inside of your card and with the “Wishes for a beautiful birthday” greeting stamp and your Blueberry Bushel ink stamp for your inside greeting.  Then with your Blueberry Bushel ink and your sponge, sponge all four edges and adhere that to the inside of your card.

That is your Nests of Winter Warbler card and a great birthday card for anyone.
