Diagonal Delicate Dreams Birthday Card

For a different twist I did a diagonal card with the Delicate Dreams designer series paper using the new 2026-2028 In Color Hydrangea Hue from Stampin’ Up for the card base and my flower.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Hydrangea Hue card stock (2026-2028 In Color Stampin’ Up)
  • Crumb Cake card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Delicate Dreams designer series paper (March 2026 Online Exclusive Stampin’ Up)
  • Delicate Whispers stamp set and dies (March 2026 Online Exclusive Stampin’ Up)
  • 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar stamp set and dies (2026 Advent Calendar Stampin’ Up)
  • 3” circle die (Stampin’ Up)
  • Natural Matte Dots embellishments (March 2026 Online Exclusive Stampin’ Up)
  • Hydrangea Hue ink (2026-2028 In Color Stampin’ Up)
  • Secret Sea ink (2025-2027 In Color Stampin’ Up)
  • Scoring board or scoring blade for paper trimmer
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

For you card base take a piece of Hydrangea Hue card stock and cut it on the diagonal in half from the top left to the lower right.  Then score on the 11” side at 5 ½” and on the 8 ½” side at 4 ¼”.  Fold the 4 ¼” side in and the 5 ½” down to form you card base.  From Crumb Cake cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼” and cut in half on the diagonal and adhere to each side.  Then with the floral piece from the Delicate Dreams designer series paper pack cut to 3 ¾” x 5” and cut on the diagonal and adhere to your Crumb Cake pieces.

With a white piece of card stock cut out a 3” circle with a die.  To the lower right side use the “for someone extra special” greeting from the 12 Days of Crafting stamp set and stamp in Secret Sea ink.  On a scrap piece of white card stock use the large flower stamp from the 12 Days of Crafting stamp set and stamp in Hydrangea Hue ink, use the die to cut it out.  Then use Secret Sea ink to stamp the flower center.  Use the leaf spray die and the Mossy Meadow paper from the Delicate Dreams designer series paper to cut out.

Adhere the leaf spray to the left and upper part of your circle and then the flower to the left side of your words.  Add a few of the Natural Matte Dots embellishments to the white spaces of your circle.  Put adhesive to the upper left side of the back of your circle and adhere to the upper center of your card front, adhering only to the upper diagonal.

For the inside of your card cut a piece of Crumb Cake card stock to 4” x 5 ¼” and a piece of white cards stock to 3 ¾” x 5”.  Adhere the white piece to the Crumb Cake and then adhere to the inside back of your card base.  Use Secret Sea ink to stamp the “Birthday wishes” greeting to the upper center of the white piece from the 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar stamp set.

A really pretty card for anyone’s birthday.

Painted Illusions Split Grame Happy Birthday Card

This card design I have been looking at for a while and finally made, I am calling it a split frame card.  This one is made with the Painted Illusions designer series paper from Stampin’ Up.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Flirty Flamingo card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Transparency clear sheet
  • Painted Illusions designer series paper (February 2026 Product of the Month Stampin’ Up)
  • Fabulous Saying stamp set (January 2025 Product of the Month Stampin’ Up)
  • Forever Florals (2025 Virtual Retreat Stampin’ Up)
  • Flirty Flamingo ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Scoring board or scoring blade for paper trimmer
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

From a piece of white card stock cut a card base to 5 ½” x 5 5/8” and score at 1 3/8”.  Then cut a piece to 1 3/8” x 5 ½”, one to 1 1/8” x 3” and three to 1 3/8” x 1 3/8”.  From a transparency or clear sheet cut a piece to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  From the Painted Illusions designer series paper find the pink floral paper and then the swirl paper that has the blue floral back.  From the swirl paper cut two pieces to 1 ¼” x 5 3/8” with a section of the pink included.  From the pink floral piece cut a piece to 1 ¼” x 5 ½” and six pieces to 1 ¼” x 1 ¼”.

With the white card base, fold at the score mark.  Take the transparency piece and adhere to the front of the 1 3/8” section, making sure you keep the adhesive away from the edge so it won’t show outside the paper boundaries, about 1/8” all the way around.  Now adhere the white piece measuring 1 3/8” x 5 ½” and adhere that to the right side to the back of the transparency.

Take the white squares and three of the floral squares and adhere each floral square to the white squares.  Adhere one to the top portion of the clear center strip, one to the bottom and then the third to the middle.

For the inside of the card adhere the other three floral squares to the triangles on the left side to cover the adhesive from the front.  Adhere the floral strip to the left side of the card back.  In Flirty Flamingo ink stamp the “happy birthday” greeting from the Fabulous Sayings stamp set to the white strip.  Adhere to the center of the floral strip.  Cut two of the small flower bunches from the Forever Florals dies and adhere one bunch to each end of your happy birthday greeting making sure they are on the white so the centers of the flowers are white.

The inside is as cute and the outside and this card design could be used for any occasion card.

Painted Illusions Happy Birthday Pop-Up Blocks Card

I have looked at making this pop-up style card for a while and this paper from the Painted Illusions designer series paper from Stampin’ Up seemed perfect for it.  I am not usually a fan of bright papers so breaking it up into small pieces with a calming background warmed it all up.  I love how it turned out and while there was a bit more cutting that usual, especially since I did two layers, it really went together fairly fast.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Lost Lagoon card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Painted Illusions designer series paper (March 2026 Product of the Month Stampin’ Up)
  • 2026 Virtual Card Making Retreat stamp set (Stampin’ Up)
  • Lost Lagoon ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

From a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock cut these pieces:

  • A card base to 4 ¼” x 8 ½” and score at 1 ½” and 3”. Fold the middle small panel in and the outside small panel out to form a “z” fold.
  • 3 ¼” x 4 ½” and score at 1 ¼”, 3”, and 4 ¼” and fold all inwards
  • 2 ¼” x 3 ¾” and score at 1”, 2 ½” and 3 ½” and fold all inwards
  • 1 ¼” x 3” and score at ¾”, 2” and 2 ¾” and fold all inwards

From white card stock cut the following:

  • Two pieces to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” for the back of the card base and back panel
  • Two to 1 3/8” x 4 1/8”
  • 1 5/8” x 3 1/8”
  • 1 3/8” x 2 1/8”
  • 1 1/8” x 1 1/8”

From the Painted Illusions designer series paper find the Lost Lagoon decorative piece and also the Lost Lagoon and Granny Apple Green “swooshy” piece.  From the Lost Lagoon decorative piece cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼”.  From the swooshy piece cut the following:

  • Three pieces to 1 ¼” x 4”
  • 1 ½” x 3”
  • 1 ¼” x 2
  • 1” x 1”

For one of the 1 ¼” x 4” and each of the other three, if you need a pattern to align, as I did, then cut them all from the same piece in order and then an even about off the top and bottom of the last three pieces.

Adhere the large white piece to the back panel of your card base and then the Lost Lagoon decorative piece to the top of that.  Adhere your first 1 ¼” x 4” “swooshy” piece that starts your patterns that align to one of the white pieces measuring 1 3/8” x 4 1/8”, and then adhere that to the top of your front panel.  Use one of the other two “ swooshy” pieces to adhere to one of the white pieces and adhere to the front of the middle panel.

Now time to create your steps.  Adhere each of your smaller “swooshy” pieces to their appropriate white pieces and then adhere each to the second section of each of the appropriate steps.  Take your largest step and adhere adhesive to the first panel, adhere in the center of the middle card base panel, then put adhesive on the ¼” section of the block, fold the third and fourth panel up and then fold your card down to find the appropriate spot, repeat for the next two sections.

With the large floral stamp with the three flowers and your Lost Lagoon ink, stamp them on a scrap piece of white.  Color the leaves with the Light Garden Green Stampin’ Blends pen.  Fussy cut out the three flowers and the colored leaves.  Then stamp the “happy birthday” greeting and cut out a rectangle around it.  Adhere the large flower to the bottom of the first panel with a single leaf and the triple leaves and then adhere the Happy Birthday greeting, angled up above the second and third pop-up blocks.  Adhere the middle flower and one of the two leaves to the upper portion of the second panel and the small flower and two leaves to the fourth pane.

For the back of the card adhere the large piece of white to the back and then the last “swooshy” piece to the left side of the right.  Stamp a birthday greeting in Lost Lagoon ink centered in the upper portion of the rest of the white.  I used a stamp that says “wishing you a day of little treasures and simple pleasures, happy birthday” which is a single stamp I have had for a long time but don’t know who made it.

This card turned out so cute, and it is so out of my normal range, so I was so excited about it.
