The wren was outside my craftroom window today which seemed like a sign that I needed to make a wren card. I used a few antiquing features on this one as I haven’t in a while and I love cards that look a little old or weathered.

To create this card, you just need a few things:
- Crumb Cake card stock (Stampin’ Up)
- White card stock
- Peaceful Garden designer series paper (July 2025 Online Exclusive from Stampin’ Up)
- Pear Pizzaz ink (Retired Stampin’ Up)
- Crumb Cake ink (Stampin’ Up)
- Scrapper (Retired Stampin’ Up) or Scissors
- Sponge
- Blending Brush – Small (Stampin’ Up)
- Paper trimmer
- Adhesive of choice
- Pop dots
From your Crumb Cake card stock cut a card base to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”. With your white card stock cut a piece to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”, and two to 3 ½” x 4 ¾”. In the Peaceful Garden designer series paper pack, find the only sheet that is Crumb Cake colored with the white florets, cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼”.

With some spare Crumb Cake cut out three floret pieces, these are teasel burrs (I don’t know where this die is from). Take one of your 3 ½” x 4 ¾” pieces of white you cut along with the Pear Pizzaz ink and your blending brush, lightly run your blending brush through the ink and blend around on your paper. Tear all four edges and then use your Crumb Cake ink and a piece of sponge and sponge along your torn edges and also add a bit to your Pear Pizzaz. Then from An Open Heart stamp set take the wren bird stamp and stamp to the left side of your piece. Take your “So much my heart would like to say . . .” stamp and stamp in Crumb Cake ink on a small spare piece of white card stock. Again tear your edges on all four sides and sponge Crumb Cake onto the edge.
Now with the 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” piece of white you cut, use your scrapper or one edge of a pair of scissors and scrape along the edge to roughen. Do the same to the Crumb Cake Floret piece of designer series paper you cut. Use your sponge and Crumb Cake ink to sponge the roughened edges.

Adhere the Crumb Cake Floret piece to the white piece and then adhere that to the front of your Crumb Cake card base. Adhere your wren piece toward the left side of the Crumb Cake Floret piece. Adhere two of the Tessel Burrs you die cut to the right side of the card front. With pop dots adhere your greeting over the stems of the Tessel Burrs and your wren piece.

For the inside of your card take the last piece of white card stock you cut and your Crumb Cake ink and stamp the “Thank You” greeting in the upper center. Adhere your last die cut tessel burr to the left side. Sponge around the edges using your Crumb Cake ink. Adhere to the back inside of your card.

I think the Wrens outside my craftroom would love the tribute card to them.
