Nests of Winter Cardinal Thank You Card

With my love of birds, this Nets of Winter paper was a must have.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Grey Granite card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Nests of Winter designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Winterly Tree Tops stamp set (Stampin’ Up)
  • Cherry Cobbler ink pad (Stampin’ Up)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop-Dots

Cut a piece of Grey Granite card stock to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and cut another piece to 3” x 3 ¾”.  With your white card stock cut a piece to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”, one to 4” x 5 ¼ and another to 2 ¾” x 3 ½”.  Now take your Nests of Winter designer series paper and find the piece with the white birch design and cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼”.  Find the piece of Nest of Winter designer series paper that has the pair of cardinals on it and cut them out.

Take the piece of white card stock you cut to 2 ¾” x 3 ½” and your Cherry Cobbler link and either wipe the edges across the top of your ink pad or take a tiny piece of sponge dabbed in ink and rubbed across the edges.  This colors the edge with the red ink to make it stand out.  Do the same with the white card stock cut to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”.   Find the “Thank you for your kindness” stamp from the Winterly Tree Tops stamp set and with your Cherry Cobbler ink stamp that about ½” up from the bottom on the 2 ¾” x 3 ½” piece of white card stock with the red edges.  Take your cut out cardinals and adhere pop dots to the back and adhere above your stamped greeting.  Adhere that to the 2 ¾” x 3 ½” piece of grey granite.

Now take your Grey Granite card base and adhere the 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” piece of white card stock with the red edges and center on the front.  Then adhere the white birch piece to that.  Take your piece with the cardinals and greeting and put pop dots on the back and adhere to the front of the white birch paper on the front of your card base.  Use the 4” x 5 ¼” piece for the inside of the card.

Floral Impressions Thank You Card

With the Floral Impressions designer series paper and the Impressions Abloom stamp set you can make this nice thank you card.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Fresh Freesia card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Floral Impressions designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Impressions Abloom stamp set (Stampin’ Up)
  • Fancy Border dies (Stampin’ Up)
  • Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems
  • Fresh Freesia ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive of choice

With a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock cut a piece to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half for your card base.  Cut another piece to 1 ¾” x 3” and one to 3” x 5 ½”.  From the white card stock cut a piece to 4” x 5 ¼” and a second piece to 1 ½” x 2 ¾”.  With the Floral Impressions designer series paper find the piece with the Fresh Freesia strips and then also the floral piece with the blue and purple flowers.  Cut a piece of each to 3” x 5 ½”.  With the Fresh Freesia strip piece cut another to 1” x 4”.

Take the border die and the Fresh Freesia and Fresh Freesia strip piece you cut to 3” x 5 ½” and push the strip piece in ¼” over the Fresh Freesia piece on the left side, take the die and cut both pieces together on the right side a few inches in or so.  Adhere the floral piece to the right side of your card base, then the fresh freesia piece to the right and then the strip piece to the right as well, forming a Fresh Freesia border between the two designer series papers.

Take an extra piece of the floral paper and cut out some of the flowers.  I used one of the larger purple flowers, one of the larger blue flowers and then two each of the smaller purple and light blue flowers.  Also cut three of the leaves.  With the Strawberry Slush gems add as centers to the three purple and the large blue flowers.

With the Fresh Freesia piece cut to 1 ¾” x 3” and the white piece that was cut to 1 ½” x 2 ¾”.  Put the two pieces together and cut with the border die.  Align to the left and adhere together.  With your Impressions Abloom stamp set find the “Thanks” and “So very much” greeting stamps and with your Fresh Fressia ink stamp toward the right side.  Adhere about 1” in toward the bottom of your card front.  Then adhere your cut out flowers to the left side of the label.

With the “I appreciate you” greeting from the Floral Impressions stamp set and the Fresh Freesia ink stamp on the upper center of the white insert for the inside of your card.  Take the Fresh Freesia strip piece adhere that toward the bottom of the white insert.  Adhere to the inside of your card.

Now you have a nice Thank You card for the next time you need one.

Daffodil Afternoon Thank You Card

To be honest, most of this card was designed by my Stampin’ Up upline demonstrator.  I found it in a big stack I had built up in a spot in my craft room.  I had that pile built up for my mom and I to work on together and she passed away unexpectedly and I just haven’t been able to deal with it.  It has now been almost three years and I have finally dug into it and found a bunch of stuff to play with.  This was in there as a card ready to make which I modified a bit.  But it is perfect for this time of year as my daffodils are up already.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Very Vanilla card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Mossy Meadow card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Basic Black card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Daffodil Afternoon designer series paper (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Dainty Delight stamp set (Stampin’ Up)
  • Mossy Meadow ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Scallop Edge rectangular dies (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Crushed Curry crinkle ribbon (Stampin’ Up)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

With your Very Vanilla card stock cut a card base to 4 ¼” x 11” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  Cut another piece for the inside of your card to 3 ½” x 4 ¼”.  Take your Mossy Meadow card stock and cut a piece to 3 3/8” x 4 7/8” and another for the inside to 4” x 5 ¼”.  Grab the Basic Black card stock and your scallop edge die that measures about 3 7/8” x 5 ¼” and cut.  Take the daffodil paper from the Daffodil Afternoon designer series paper pack and your smaller scallop die measuring around 3 1/8” x 4 ½” and cut.  Find a label die large enough for the “Celebrate You” from the Dainty Delight stamp set, stamp your greeting onto the in Mossy Meadow ink.

Take your Very Vanilla card base and adhere the Basic Black decorative piece, then the Mossy Meadow piece  measuring 3 3/8” x 4 7/8”.  Now with the daffodil piece adhere that to the Mossy Meadow with pop dots to make it stand out a bit.  Adhere your label to the lower right.  With the Crushed Curry crinkle ribbon tie a bow and adhere to the upper left corner of your label.

For the inside take the Very Vanilla piece and your Mossy Meadow ink and stamp the “Thank You for your Kindness”.  Adhere the Very Vanilla piece to your Mossy Meadow piece and then to the inside of your card.

There is the Daffodil Afternoon thank you card.

Grace’s Garden Thank You Card

This is one of the prettiest stamp sets and once I saw it had a little kitty (which I didn’t use for this card) I had to have it.  The gate options and different flower groups are just so adorable.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Soft Sky card stock (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Crumb Cake card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Grace’s Garden stamp set and dies (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Jet Black StazOn ink
  • Soft Sky ink (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Lemon Lime Twist (Stampin’ Up)
  • Blending Brushes
  • Brick Embossing Folder (Retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Corner Rounder
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

For you card base cut a piece of Soft Sky card stock to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” the use a corner rounder to round the two corners at the fold which then mimic the gate a bit.  Cut two pieces of white card stock to 4” x 5 ¼” and round the top two corners on both of them to match your card.

Take one of your cut white pieces, your Soft Sky and Lemon Lime Twist inks and your blending brushes.  With the Lemon Lime Twist, lightly ink the bottom 1/3 of your paper with the blending brush.  Then lightly do the same to the top half in the Soft Sky.

Now take some scrap white paper and your Jet Black StazOn and stamp three of the climbing rose, two of the tall hollyhocks and two of the daisy and hosta group and two of the small gate pieces.  Take your inside piece of white you cut and stamp a hollyhock on the left side and a climbing rose on the right.  Then also take a small piece of Crumb Cake card stock and emboss it with the brick embossing folder to use for a path.

For the climbing roses I colored them with the Bubble Bath Light Stampin’ Blend and the Old Olive Light.  For the hollyhocks I colored them with the Highland Heather Light Stampin’ Blends and the Lemon Lime Twist Dark Stampin’ Blends.  The daisies I colored with the Limon Lolly Dark Stampin’ Blends and the Hosta with the Pale Papaya Dark Stampin Blends and used the Lemon Lime Twist Light Stampin’ Blends for the leaves.  Use your dies to cut all of these and also the arched gate.  I did have to cut the gate in half so it would open, though the die looked like it should have done it.

Now let’s put it all together.  Adhere your white card stock piece that you colored with the blending brushes to the front of your card.  Then adhere the arched gate in the center with the bottom at the bottom of your white colored piece.  Adhere one of the gates on each side so they will stick out in the background of your flowers.  For the climbing roses I did cut the but of the top of one just to make them look slightly different, then adhere to the edge of your gate climbing the arch.  Put a hollyhock to the far edge of each side.  For the daisy and hosta pieces I cut them apart and adhered the daisy to each side in the front on pop dots to stand it out a bit.  Then I put the path down on the inside of my gate and then put a hosta on each side overlapping the path and then cut the last climbing rose in half and put one on each side of the path as well.

Not with your Jet Black StazOn ink and the “With all my heart” greeting stamp in the center of your gate.

For the inside adhere your white piece with the colored flowers to the inside of your card.  With your Jet Black StazOn and the “I thank you for all the kindness in yours” greeting stamp toward the top center.

That is all there is to making this lovely thank you card.  I am looking and thinking I could have stamped the littly kitty looking up at the hollyhocks on the inside, so there is a suggestion you can add.

Magnolia Mood Rustic Thank You Card

I felt like going a bit rustic today with this Magnolia Mood card.  This set is so lovely and so detailed that it really doesn’t even need any color.  I gave the leaves a bit of color but otherwise just let the stamp do all the work.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Early Expresso card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Sahara Sand card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Magnolia Mood stamp set and dies (Stampin’ Up)
  • Soft Suede ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Old Olive Dark Stampin’ Blends
  • Woodgrain embossing Folder (Stampin’ Up)
  • Two label dies that layer
  • Rustic Metal Adhesive-Backed Dots (Stampin’ Up)
  • Sponge
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop dots

Start with taking your Early Expresso card stock and cutting into a card base at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  Then with your Sahara Sand card stock cut two pieces to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” and a third piece to 4” x 5 ¼”.  Cut a piece of white card stock to 4” x 5/14”.

Take the Sahara Sand piece cut to 4” x 5 ¼” and your woodgrain embossing folder and emboss.  Take your Soft Suede ink pad and lightly run it over your embossed piece to highlight the wood grain.  You can also use a brayer to ink if you want it to only ink the grain and be a bit more neat, but I like the more rusticness of running the ink pad instead for this one.

With some scrap white paper and your Soft Suede ink stamp one of the large magnolias and one of the small single flowers.  Use your Old Olive Dark Stampin’ Blends to color the leaves and then cut them out with the dies.  Then take your cut piece of white card stock that you cut to 4” x 5 ¼” and stamp another of the small single flowers slightly off the card in the lower left corner.  Find the “just a not no let you know that you are loved” greeting and stamp toward the top center for the inside of your card.  With the “Thank you for being you” greeting stamp onto a piece of scrap white card stock.

Take on of your pieces of Sahara Sand and adhere your wood grain piece to it and then adhere that to the front of your card base.  With pop dots, adhere the large magnolia in the slower left of your card and then the small flower to the right side with the stem hidden slightly under the large magnolia.  With your “Thank you for being you” greeting use the smaller of two label dies to cut that out greeting.  With a scrap piece of Sahara Sand and the larger label die cut out a piece.  I used a sponge to sponge the edges of both labels, then adhere together and then with pop dots adhere to the upper part of your card front.  Adhere a few metal embellishments around your label.

Take you stamped white inside piece and adhere to the second piece of Sahara Sand card stock and adhere to the inside of your card.

That is all there is to making this rustic Magnolia Mood thank you card.  I was really happy with how it turned out and can’t wait to give it to someone.
