Winterly Tree Tops Level-Up Card

This curved front card is made with the Nests of Winter suite using the Nests of Winter designer series paper and the Winterly Tree Tops stamp set from the Stampin’ Up suite.

You will need the following supplies to make this card:

  • Gray Granite card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • The Nests of Winter designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Winterly Tree Tops stamp set and dies (Stampin’ Up)
  • A scoring board or paper trimmer with a scoring blade
  • Paper trimmer
  • Real Red ink pad (Stampin’ Up)
  • Your preferred adhesive
  • Pop dot adhesive

Cut a piece of Gray Granite card stock in half to 4 ¼” x 11”.  Get your scoring board or cutting tool with a scoring blade and score this cardstock at 1 ¾”, 3 1/8”, 3 ½”, 7 ½”, 7 7/8” and 9 ¼”.  Starting from the center to the right side fold up, fold up and fold the last flap out and then the same from the left.

Grab your Nests of Winter designer series paper and pull out the pinkish piece full of pussy willows and cut a piece 3 ¾” x 4” and adhere that to the center panel of your card stock.  Now cut two pieces of the light gray with the pussy willows and birds, make sure to cut so you get a bird for each, these will both be 1 ½” x 4” and adhere one of each to the front flaps.

Now grab your Winterly Tree Tops dies or a pair of scissors and the designer series paper that has the gray and pink bird and either cut the bird out with the die or with scissors.

Put some pop dots on the back of your cut out bird and then hold your card flat and adhere the bird to the upper center of the middle section of the card.  Based on these measurements it just fits with a very small portion to go under the upper flaps.

Also cut a 1” x 5 ¼” piece of just the gray from the light gray with pussy willows and birds paper and a piece of 1 ¼’ x 5 ½” out of the gray granite card stock.  Adhere these two strips together.

Now put about 1 ½” of adhesive on the back side of the card stock and then fold your card flat at align the strip across the card.

Get your Real Red ink pad and your stamp (I used the “A friend like you brings me happiness” you wisht to use, make sure it will fit nicely along the strip.  Ink your stamp pad and then “stamp off” on a piece of scrap paper to change the color of the ink from red to a more pinkish color to match the bird in the middle.   Now stamp onto a piece of white card stock.  Cut that piece of stamped card stock down to about ¾” x 3 ¼”.

Adhere your stamped saying to the front strip of the card.  I put it to the left, but you could also center it.

Flip the card over to the back side.  Cut a piece of white card stock to 3 ¾” x 4” and a piece of the light gray designer series paper cut to 1” x 3 ¾”.  Adhere the strip toward the bottom of the white piece of card stock.  If you would like to stamp a saying to the signature part of your card, stamp off using the Real Red ink again and then stamp your saying (I used “thinking of you always”).

This is a different card style that is fun and fairly easy to make.  The hardest part was determining the scoring measurements which are now supplied so now it is easy for you.  I hope you have fun making this card.

Nests of Winter Banner Pop-Up Card

The Winterly Tree Tops paper is so pretty and can take so much of the work out of making a card.  This card is the perfect example of that.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Grey Granite card stock
  • White card stock
  • Nests of Winter designer series paper
  • Winterly Tree Tops stamp set
  • Grey Granite Ink
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop-Dots

With the Grey Granite card stock cut a card to 4 1/4” x 11” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  Also cut a strip of Grey Granite to 1” x 11” scored at 2 ¾”, 5 ½” and 8 ¼”.  Cut a piece of White card stock to 4” x 5 ¼” and adhere to the front of your Grey Granite card base.  Get your Nests of Winter designer series paper out and find one of the pieces that have the pussy willows with the birds on the bottom and top of the paper.  Cut a section to 4” x 4 ¼” making sure you have the birds positioned where you want them for the section of paper you are using.  Find two spots with birds that you can cut to 1 ¾” x 1 ¾” and also cut two pieces of White card stock to the same 1 ¾” x 1 ¾”.  I also cut a ½” x 1 ¾” of a bit of pussy willow for the bottom of one of the white pieces.  Cut four squares out of the Grey Granite to 2” x 2”.  Adhere your 4 pieces cut to 1 ¾” x 1 ¾” to each of the Grey Granite pieces.  On the plain white one get the  “many thanks and much love” stamp from the Winterly Tree Tops stamp set and stamp it with your Grey Granite ink.

Find a piece of designer series paper from your Nests of Winter pack that has the white birch trees with the birds.  Cut two pieces to 4” x 5 ¼” and adhere one to the inside top portion of your card and the other to the inside bottom portion.  Now take the Grey Granite strip you cut and scored and accordion fold it.  Adhere the top section centered to the top of your card with the center part of your accordion fold popping up and then adhere the bottom section to the bottom of your card.  Now adhere you 2” x 2” pieces from top down centered in each section of your grey accordion strip with one of the birds in the top section.  Your word stamped piece in the second section, the second bird one in the third section and the plain white with the strip of pussy willow to the bottom section.

And that is it, you have an adorable, easy pop-up card.

Nests of Nature Chickadee Card

I love birds, I spend a fortune feeding them all every day.  When I saw this stamp set and paper I had to have it.

  • White card stock
  • Nests of Winter designer series paper
  • Winterly Tree Tops stamp set
  • Basic Black ink pad
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice
  • Pop-Dots
  • Twine

Cut a piece of Grey Granite card stock to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and cut another piece to 2 7/8″ x 4 1/8”.  With your white card stock cut a piece to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”, one to 4” x 5 ¼, one at 2 5/8” x 3 7/8” and another to 1 ¼” x 2 ¼”.  Now take your Nests of Winter designer series paper and find the piece with the white birch design and the light grey with the white circles on it.  Cut a piece of white birch paper to 4” x 5 ¼”.  With the light grey with circles paper cut a piece to 2 ½” x 3 ¾”.   Find the piece of Nest of Winter designer series paper that has the chickadee on it.  Cut out one of the Chickadees.

Take the piece of white card stock you cut to 1 ¼” x 2 ¼” and the Winterly Tree Tops stamp sent and with the “sending thanks & much love” and the Basic Black ink stamp it centered on the piece of card stock.

Now take your Grey Granite card base and adhere the 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” piece of white card stock centered on the front.  Then adhere the white birch piece to that.  Take the small stamped piece of white and adhere that about 1/8” up from the bottom of the light grey with circles piece.  Adhere the light grey circles piece to the white piece of card stock.  Take the twine and wrap around twice and tie a bow and make sure it is located just above the stamped white piece.  Now take the cut out Chickadee, apply pop-dots to the back of it and adhere that to the top portion of the light grey circles piece.  Then adhere that to the piece of grey granite card stock.  Adhere that whole piece onto the center of the front of your card base on the birch paper.   Use the 4” x 5 ¼” piece for the inside of the card.
