Wildflower Birthday Reverse Double Z-Fold Card

This is bright and fun birthday card made into a reverse double z-fold card turned out great.  It uses the Wildflower Birthday designer series paper pack from Stampin’ Up that also includes two sheets of cut outs to use to decorate.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Blueberry Bushel card stock
  • Pretty in Pink card stock
  • White card stock
  • Wildflower Birthday designer series paper and cut outs
  • Blueberry Bushel ink
  • Scoring board or paper trimmer scoring blade
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

Cut a piece of Blueberry Bushell card stock to 4 ¼” x 11” and score at 5 ½” and 8 ¼” to form you Z-fold card base.  With the Pretty in Pink card stock cut a piece to 3” x 9” and scored at 4 ¼” and 6 5/8”.  Take your white card stock and cut a piece to 2 ¾” x 4” for the front of your card and cut two pieces to 2 1/8” x 2 ¾”.  Find the pink gingham paper in the Wildflower Birthday pack and cut one piece 4” x 5 ¼”, two pieces to 2 ¾” x 4” and two to ¾” x 2 ¾”.

Find the greeting saying “Wishes for a beautiful birthday” stamp from the Framed Florets stamp set, and with the Blueberry Bushel ink stamp on to one of the 2 1/8” x 2 3/4” pieces.  Time to start assembling your card.  Take your card base and your three large pieces of the pink gingham and adhere one to each panel of your card.  Do the same with your Pretty In Pink piece by adhering the three white panels, with the stamped panel in the middle.  Take the long side of your Pretty In Pink piece, put adhesive on the top half and adhere to the short side of the Blueberry Bushel piece.  Then put adhesive on the bottom side of the bottom panel, fold it up and then fold onto the card base.

Take you two small pieces of pink gingham and adhere one to the bottom of the inside panel leaving a small bit of white, and the same on the large pane.  In your Wildflower Birthday pack find the cut out sheets and punch out one of the large pink tiered cake, two of the small pink flowers and one of the cupcakes.  Adhere one of the flowers next to your greeting, adhere the cupcake and the other small flower to the inside panel and the adhere the cake to the front panel.  Add a few pink party dot embellishments for some additional decoration if you choose.  I planned to do this and apparently didn’t end up doing it.

That is all there is to making this pretty pink reverse double z-fold birthday card that will be great for any females birthday.

Botanical Textures Double Z-Fold Card

Another double z-fold card as they are one of my favorite folds and this on is in black and white tones which are also my favorite colors.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • White card stock
  • Basic Black card stock
  • Botanical Textures designer series paper
  • Memorable Blooms stamp set and dies
  • Two layered label dies
  • Basic Black ink
  • Scoring board or paper trimmer scoring blade
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

With your White card stock cut a card base to 5 ½” x 8 ½” and score at 2 1/8” and 4 ¼”.  With Basic Black card stock cut a piece to 4” x 7 ½” and score at 3” and 5 1/4”.  Cut another piece of White card stock to 1 3/8” x 2 7/8”.  With the Botanical Textures designer series paper pack find the black texture piece and the opposite white textured piece.  With the black textured piece cut one piece to 4” x 5 ¼” and two pieces to 1 7/8” x 5 ¼”.  With the white textured piece cut one piece to 2 ¾” x 3 ¾” and two pieces to 2” x 3 ¾”.

Adhere the black textured designer series paper to the white card base and the white textured designer series paper to the black card stock.  One the large portion of the black card stock piece, put adhesive to about one inch of the back of the big portion and center and adhere to the small section of the White card base with the black textured paper.  Fold the black piece toward the front and put adhesive on the back and while still folded fold the White card base onto the black to adhere together.

Take the small White cards stock piece you cut to 1 3/8” x 2 7/8” with your Basic Black ink stamp the “Thanks so much” greeting toward the top.  Adhere this in the center of the white textured inside panel.  Stamp the “I appreciate your thoughtfulness” greeting on a spare piece of White card stock and cut out with your smaller label die, then cut out the larger label die with the Black card stock.  Adhere the white label to the center of the black label and adhere the black label to the front center of the white textured front panel.

Cut two leaves from the Memorable Blooms leaf die and one black one.  Adhere one of the white leaves to the left side of the card and layer the black one off-set over the white one.  Cut the second white leaves to a shorter length and adhere long ways below the label.

Give this diverse black and white double z-fold thank you card to let someone know you appreciate their thoughtfulness and them.

Mixed Floral Z-Fold Pop-Up Card

This is a z-fold card, but with a pop-up twist, so there is a middle layer that pops up when you start to open the card.  I love the colors, I saw someone else use them for a card so I decided to use the colors to make this style card.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Pretty in Pink card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Mixed Floral designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
  • Jet Black Staz-On ink
  • Stampin’ Blends (Stampin’ Up)
    • Pretty in Pink Light
    • Pretty in Pink Dark
    • Mint Macaroon Dark
    • Lemon Lolly Light
    • Lemon Lolly Dark
  • Scoring board or paper trimmer scoring blade
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

With the Pretty in Pink card stock cut a card base to 5 ½” x 8 ½” then score at 2 1/8 and 4 ¼” and fold the card in half and the fold the front quarter forward to form your z-fold.  Cut another piece with the Pretty in Pink to 2 ¾” x 4 ¼”.  With your white card stock cut a piece to 2” x 4 1/8”, one to 4 3/8” x 4 5/8” and a third piece to 2 5/8” x 4 1/8” and lastly one to 2 ½” x 3” scored at ½”, 1 ¼” and 2”.   With the black floral designer series paper from the Mixed Floral designer series paper pack.  Cut a piece to 4 x 5 ¼” and a second to 1 7/8” x 4”.

Take the coneflower stamp from the Mixed Florals set and the Jet Black Staz-On ink and stamp on to a spare piece of white card stock.  Color the leaves with the Mint Macaroon dark Stampin’ Blends, the dainty flowers and large flower centers with the Lemon Lolly light and dark Stampin’ Blends and the large flowers with the light and dark Pretty in Pink Stampin Blends.  With the white piece measuring 2 5/8” x 4 1/8” and stamps from the Mixed Labels stamp set stamp the dainty flower stamp once or twice in the lower left corner and the “I’m so glad we’re friends” greeting in the upper left corner.

Now let’s assemble the card.  Adhere the white piece of card stock measuring 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” to the back of the card, and the black floral piece measuring 4” x 5 ¼” to the white card stock piece.

With the 2 ½” x 3” scored piece, fold into a square.  Put adhesive on the top of the right side of ½” part.  Fold in half with the glue half down, line up with the middle fold so it will lay flat with card closed.  The put adhesive on the upper ½” section and fold card onto it again making sure it all lays flat.  Take the Pretty in Pink piece and adhere your stamped white piece to it.  Put adhesive on the top of your box piece and adhere this greeting piece to it centered.

Take the last white piece and adhere the black floral piece to that and adhere to the front of the card.  Glue your large colored flowers to the front with it partially hanging of toward the center and making sure your greeting is covered.

That gives you the pop-up z-fold card in these lovely pops of pink with the black background.

Mixed Floral Angled Z-Fold Card

It has taken me a long time to come up with a card design I am happy with for this stamp set, but I am really happy with what I finally came up with.  And of course a Z-fold card is where I landed, but the angled Z-fold, which I haven’t made of like this for a while.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Daffodil Delight card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Soft Sea Foam (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Delightful Wishes designer series paper
  • Mixed Floral stamp set and dies (Stampin’ Up)
  • Magnolia Mood (Stampin’ Up)
  • Jet Black StazOn ink
  • Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends (Stampin’ Up)
  • Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin Blends (Stampin’ Up)
  • Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends (Stampin’ Up)
  • Scoring board or paper trimmer scoring blade
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive of choice

Take a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and cut to 5 ½” x 11” and then on your paper trimmer line the left edge at the 5 ½” edge and then move the right end up so it is at 3 ½” and cut to get your angle.  With your straight bottom edge of your card base so starting at the long edge, score at 4 ¼” and at 7 5/8”, folding the middle to the right and the top panel to the left to form your Z-fold.

With the polka dot designer series paper from the Delightful Wishes paper pack, cut a piece to 5 ¼” x 11” and cut the same angle with 5 ¼” at the left end and 3 ¼” on the right edge.  Cut from the small edge for your front panel to 3 1/8” wide, then cut off a ¼” and cut another piece 3 1/8” wide for the middle panel and then cut off a ¼” and cut your back panel to 4” wide.  Take the middle panel and cut another going the opposite direction out of the polka dot paper and one the same direction from a piece of white card stock.

Take your card base and your small panel for the front and adhere.  Then adhere your large panel to the back panel.  Adhere the middle panel to the middle panel when the card is fully open, and the opposite direct one goes on the back side of the middle panel so when the card it closed it has the same decorative paper.

With your remaining piece of angled white card stock with the highest part of your angle to the left.  With the Magnolia Mood “Happy Birrthday” greeting stamp and your Jet Black StazOn stamp the greeting.  Adhere this to the back panel of your card aligning to the left side and aligning the bottom so it doesn’t show when your card is closed.

With your large tulip stamp from Mixed Florals and your Jet Black StazOn Ink stamp the design and then stamp the right half again for the inside.  Color the leaves of both with the Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends, color the tulips with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, highlight with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends if you would like, and color the little flowers with the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends.  Use the Mixed Florals dies to cut out the full image and also the partial.  Then take a pair of scissors and trim down the partial one along the large leave between the two tulips to the right so you just get the one tulip.

Then with your Soft Sea Foam card stock cut two of the large leaves with the die from Mixed Florals.  Adhere the to leaf cut outs to the front of your card with the one toward the right hanging over the edge a bit and both hanging over the top, but not higher than your 5 ½” card height.  Now adhere the full size colored tulip cut-out to the front centered between the two leaf pieces.  Take the small cut out and adhere that to the inside panel to the right aligned along the side of you white panel but to the right edge so it shows with the full size one when closed.

Now that I finally came up with a design, I am happy with I really like this card and I hope you do as well.
