Floral Delight Happy Birthday Card

I saw a card like this and hadn’t saw this style in a while so thought I would make one.  I used the Floral Delight designer series paper and Delightful Wishes stamps and dies from Stampin’ Up to make this one.

To create this card, you just need a few things:

  • Old Olive card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Pecan Pie card stock (Stampin’ Up)
  • Daffodil Delight (Stampin’ Up)
  • White card stock
  • Floral Delight designer series paper (retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Delightful Wishes stamp set and dies (retired Stampin’ Up)
  • Lemon Lolly ink (Stampin’ Up)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive of choice

To start your card base, cut a piece of Old Olive to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  From white card stock cut a piece to 5 ¼” x 6” and fold in half to 3” x 5 ¼” and another piece to 1” x 5 ¼”.  Take your Floral Delight designer series paper find the yellow gingham paper and cut a piece to 2 7/8” x 5 1/8” and the yellow floral with the branches to 7/8” x 5 1/8”.

Take the white folded piece and adhere to the left side of the Old Olive card base, opening from the right.  Adhere the yellow gingham piece to the front of it.  Adhere your 1” white piece to the right side of your Old Olive card base and adhere the floral strip to it.

From a scrap piece of old olive use the larger wishing die to cut out.  From Daffodil Delight cut out the smaller wishing, adhere them together.  Tip, use adhesive sheets to back your Daffodil Delight card stock piece before you cut it out, but not your Old Olive piece as some of that won’t have adhesive because it hangs over the edge.  From a scrap piece of white card stock stamp the multi-flower stamp base in Lemon Lolly and then the top layer in Daffodil Delight and cut out with the die.  Use Pecan Pie card stock and the stick die to cut out.  Stamp two of the double leaves, cut out with the dies and then cut them into individuals so you have four leaves.  Adhere your leaves and flower pieces randomly to your stem and then adhere your stem to the front left side of your card front toward the top.  Then on a scrap piece of white stamp the “you a happy birthday” in Old Olive ink and use the long slim die to cut it out.  Adhere that at the bottom of your card centered on the full card, so hanging over the edge of the card opening slightly and then adhere your “wishing” above that, again with part of your “g” hanging over.

For the inside is used an old block stamp greeting saying ”I can’t think of a nicer person to celebrate!” in Old Olive ink, I don’t know what stamp set it was from.

What a bright and cheery birthday card for someone you care about.
